Arches National Park

We had a family trip planned to Arches National Park before we knew Sabrina would be coming with us.  It worked out perfect though because she was able to see some of the site down there.

Our campsite was awesome.  My brother in law reserved it over a year ago.  It was the best site there, with plenty of room for the kids to play.  It was perfect minus the wind.  The wind was awful.

My favorite part of camping is the campfire at night.  The first night we got there, we just explored around the campsite and played around there.

The boys found some fun trees to climb.

We lost Tragon a couple times and had to round him up.  He was the one always getting away.  Damon was the cheeto monster and would have eaten all the cheetos in camp if I hadn't told everyone not to give him cheetos anymore.  He had a permanent orange mustache and fingers the whole time I think.  Jaron loved just being able to roam, but that boy would NOT go to sleep.  I walked around for over an hour late at night and nothing, then I give him to Morgan for about 5 minutes while I went to the bathroom and I came back and he was asleep....whatever...Logan, well, this probably wasn't Logan's favorite trip, but I think he still had fun.

It started with a fever on Sunday when he woke up.  I didn't think anything of it and gave him some ibuprofen because he usually bounces back pretty quick.  This time he didn't, he fought the fever all day Sunday and Monday and would hardly eat or drink anything, he had an awful nightmare that took us about 10 minutes to wake him up from.  It was so sad.  So, sadly after hiking Landscape Arch and the Fiery Furnace (Morgan stayed back at camp with Logan and/or the boys for those hikes) we decided to break camp and head home.  It turned out to be the wise decision, Logan ended up having strep throat.  He's really bounced back now though and seems fine.  We'll just have to go down again.

This was an arch not too far from our campground that Morgan took the boys on a little hike to.  Logan was not feeling well and would get really upset if anyone walked faster than his snail pace.

These are a few pictures of Fiery Furnace.  Wade was an awesome tour guide and took us on the full 3 hour ranger tour.  It was really fun.....minus the wind again.  I think Sabrina had a good time and we did get to see a lot of the park, it does sort of all blend in together after a while.  I don't think she was too sad to come home early though and sleep on a real bed.  She had never been camping like this before.  At least she got a little taste of it.  :)

I really want to go back again when our kids are a little older and not sick and it's not windy.  :)  I wish we could have stayed, because it sounds like the weather was awesome after we left, but sometimes that's just how it goes.  :)  Until next time....
