Oklahoma Adventures Week 4

August 26th - September 1st

How do we begin ... ... ... must ... have ... kitchen! Our tolerance for fast food and microwave dinners is running very thin. I don't know how that guy on "Supersize Me" did it. Maybe this will help us appreciate all the healthy food we have available to us. I (Annie) know that it will definitely make me appreciate cooking better, and who knows, maybe that's what it was all about. We decided to brave the crockpot this week, as it looks like the kitchen will be finished this week. We would have used it sooner, but it doesn't fit in the bathroom sink and we wouldn't have been able to clean up afterwards, as it is, we'll probably just rinse it with the hose and let it sit for a couple days until the sink is installed.

This ought to taste a lot better than the microwave lasagna that almost blew up our office. :) It was actually in flames in the microwave, I thought I could smell something funny, and Morgan went in to check on it and came back with this:

Needless to say, we were very careful using the microwave for the next couple days and can't wait until the kitchen is finished. It's so close too. We finally had our cabinets arrive and we had fun putting them together, Logan even helped out a bit. All that is left is actually installing them, putting on the doors, installing the sink and countertop, and getting the floor done. Our goal is that by our next blog we'll be sending pictures of our wonderfully finished kitchen.

It's been hard being away from football this season. Morgan was able to listen to the game online, but he said, it's just not the same. Who knows, maybe we'll find someone that is a die hard BYU fan that we can watch future games with. Regardless, we're making sure that Logan knows who to cheer for. We were happy to see the Cougars start the season off right with a 20-7 win against Arizona.

RAH .. RAH.. RAH RAH RAH! RAH .. RAH .. RAH RAH RAH! Gooooo Cougars!

Victory kisses!

pfflt Arizona!

Morgan's been in school now for a couple weeks and is doing great. He got 100% on his first quiz. His schedule this semester is not as full as it will be in subsequent ones, and it's been really nice to have him around the house more often. We have fun playing with Logan and taking pictures when we can. And it always helps to have the cutest baby in the whole world, who is starting to not be as camera shy. Now, he's just our little flirt.

Logan is such a joy in our lives and has made this adventure worth while. He's such a ham and all the ladies of the ward just can't get enough of him.

Speaking of our ward. We are having a good experience there so far. We don't have "official" callings yet, but Morgan gets to teach priesthood next week and I've been playing the piano in Relief Society the past couple weeks. I decided that I wanted to start out on the right foot this time, so today in testimony meeting I got up, and then Morgan got up after me. It was a good way to do a little 5 second introduction as well and let people know that we are here and that we'll be here for a while.

Well, since last week we ended with some pictures for Papa "Beard" (Hadlock), we thought we better keep things even and throw in some pictures for Papa Goodman: Have a great week, we look forward to writing again next week.
