Happy Father's Day

Today I hope my husband knows how much I absolutely adore and love him. I made his favorite crepes for his breakfast and we got him a shirt and tie--a father's day present he has been looking forward to. :) We had a pretty crazy church meeting with both the boys having colds, so Morgan came home with them because I had to stay to play piano in primary (my new calling). He was able to get both the kids to sleep after a while when he got home and was able to get a little nap in. And later the weather cooperated and we were able to go take a walk.

Morgan is such a great father and provider for our family and has worked so hard over the years to accomplish the things he has. Logan and Damon just adore their Daddy and I just can't imagine my life without having him by my side forever. He is my true companion and greatest love.
A few things that I love about my husband:

*His great big smile that makes any bad day go away.

*His work ethic - he's one of the hardest workers I know.

*His sincerity - I know that when he says he loves me, he means it.

*His big heart - he has a genuine concern for others and wants to help people

*His intelligence - he is one smart cookie and we seem to balance each other out with the things that we think we do and don't know.

I could go on and on, but I spare you the finer details. I just know that I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful person to share my life with. I love you Morgan!

The Buddy

Since I did a post about Damon, I figured I should do a post about Logan too. This picture is perfect describing him...always into things and figuring out how to get into other things. :)

Logan is 2 years and 2 months old now and is definitely a handful. Just recently he finally learned how to say "truck" and "vacuum." For those of you that know him, you'll know what a feat this is. He's been saying "carT" and "Batmow" for the longest time. It was really cute, but it's nice to know that he really can hear and repeat what we say.

Speaking of repeating things, Logan is a little parrot. He will mimic anything you say or do, especially when it comes to Damon. I've had to be more mindful of the things I do and say now. My favorite though is when someone sneezes Logan will be the first one to say "bless you mama" and then he proceeds to do a fake sneeze and say "bless you Logan" I love it and I didn't even really try to teach him that one, it just happened one day.

Logan loves to run around and be outside and we're still working on the whole listen and not play in the road thing, what can I say, he just loves cars.

Logan definitely tries my patience these days with his yelling and rough-housing and just plain crazy energy and lack of apettite, but he makes up for it with the kisses, hugs, and the now "I wuv you mamas"

I love my boys and couldn't ask for better!

Damonater

Damon had his 9 month checkup this week. He was 18.57 lbs, but our handout says 19.57 lbs, but I'm pretty sure I remember it only being 18.57 lbs on the scale. Anyway, regardless of that he's still growing very well and eats like a champ. He would love to be eating anything we are, but we still try to stick to the basics. He was 28 1/2 inches tall. And not to compare kids, but Logan was about 16.5 lbs and 29 inches right now, so I'm sure Damon will be going through a growth spurt pretty soon.

Damon has four teeth and two coming in right now which has made him extra cranky this week. As soon as the last two are in, he'll have four on the top and two on the bottom, I can only hope that he doesn't turn into a biter like Logan was or we may be weaning him sooner than a year.

Damon can crawl now and loves to climb up on everything and loves to walk while you hold his hands. Logan loves to wrestle with Damon, but sometimes gets a little too rough, we're still working on that. Damon adores Logan and wants to be doing everything he is and gets frustrated sometimes when Logan can just run away and he can't.
For the most part Damon has turned out to be pretty mild mannered....except for these past few weeks that I hope are done where he has been extra clingy and a real momma's boy, I'm hoping it's the teething that's brought that on. He still takes 2-3 naps throughout the day and loves to babble and loves to smile. He can brighten a room with his cheeriness. I know I used this picture last post, but I can't find my camera so I don't have any new pictures this week and it was really cute.

Twice the Dudes, Twice the Fun

This week has been crazy. I have two of the craziest, most lovable and fun little boys in the whole world, but at times they can be very mischievous. I feel bad that I have been neglecting them slightly...well I've been letting Little Einsteins babysit them for hours on end. I have been getting our house ready to sell. Yep, we're selling our townhouse and looking to move on up. Nothing will really be official until we've sold this house of course, but we've got our goals. So, if you know anyone interested in an awesome townhouse ;)....

I did actually happen to still get quite a few pictures this week:
Damon loves the piano.
And he's getting so big.
I was going to get both of them together, but sometimes Logan doesn't like sharing and I didn't want to explain being in the middle of taking a precious picture as Logan pushes Damon off the bench.
Logan does surely love his brother though. These are "Damon's bears" Logan's are blue and we have one and spare for each boy. Damon doesn't use his a ton right now and we keep them in a drawer next to the bed and Logan gets in it all the time and pulled out the bears and said "Damon's bears" and gave him one and then sat on the floor by him, it was really cute.
Damon can pull himself up in the crib now, which is good and bad, he can get up, but can't get back down so he just cries...it's been some rough nights and naps this last couple weeks and then throw teething on top of that. Oh, the joys of babies. :) This was a particularly rough nap day and the boys just kept playing and talking and I left them in there for 2 hours....I really wanted them to take a nap, but I guess that was just as good, but when I went in to finally let them out they were just having a blast in the crib.
Logan likes to push his stuffed animals around on his lawnmower.
And he likes to be naked. He can take his pants off by himself, but needs help with his shirt, so the last few days he's just been running around in his diaper, he still can't take that off by himself. :)
Damon is a little bookworm and loves to pull all the books off the shelf.
...and the puzzles...and the movies...and basically everything else within his reach he will pull off the shelves.
Logan loves anything that is his daddy's and found these "gaggas" in the closet and wore them around the house all day.
I love when I can just sit with my boys together and look at books.
And you can kind of see my haircut. I'm really lovin' the whole swoopy bangs...and my new glasses. :)

This is Logan finally asleep after church today, it was a good hour or so of listening to him sing before it got quiet. That was after he destroyed his room of course. I do love it when he's sleeping though. :) Everything is so much quieter and more peaceful. And that's my Damon with his new haircut after he had a little snack. I sure love my boys! even though they are a handful. I better go rest a little while Logan is still napping and I have some bread to get in the oven. Until next time...

Zoo Fun

So, my kids finally busted my glasses to the point where the lenses won't stay in at all. I needed a new prescription anyway, so I guess it all worked out and I have been loving wearing contacts more while I've been waiting to get the glasses.

I gave Logan the frames and he walks around the house saying, glasses, my new glasses, it's really cute and I think he's pretty darn cute in glasses too, although I don't wish that upon him yet..or at all for that matter. And is it sad that my glasses fit my 2 year old....yeah, I have a little head and I shop for my glasses in the kids section, it's usually cheaper that way though. :)
This week we got to go to Hogle Zoo and use our zoo pass. It was really run. My friend Kristen and her little boy Miles came with us. We were really excited for the Pachyderm Program, which I thought would be some awesome elephant tricks...
...but it just happened to be the rhino day and we just got to see them feed the rhinos. It was still pretty cool, I even learned something. Did you know that a group of rhinoceros is called a crash. I think that's pretty cool.
Elephants are my favorite though. I guess they are expecting a baby elephant in a few more weeks too, I hope we get to see the baby elephant. :)
This is Damon waiting for the elephants to come out...but it ended up just rhinos. He still looks happy though.
And Logan is trying to climb out of the stroller so he can run around. I'm sure if I let him, he'd run straight into the rhinos and get eaten.
And this is Damon trying to get out and eat the camera. I love his blue eyes.
The zoo was actually a really good workout. It's really hilly, especially when you have a double stroller that you are pushing. This is a big turtle, but I didn't get a very good shot. We had a really fun time and I'm excited to go back again.
On Saturday we ran a 5k and Morgan was nice enough to be the one to jog with the stroller. It was a little chilly since the race was at 7:00 in the morning. That little stinker of a husband of mine was getting himself all prepped to run a terrible race because he had the kids and he came in around 25:00 minutes. That's an awesome time with or without a stroller, especially since he hasn't been doing any running for the last couple years or so. He's really sore now though and paying for it. :) I came in at 28:39. I really wanted to beat 30 minutes, so I was really happy that I did and I was only about 20 seconds or so from my fastest time. I have another 5k coming up in a couple weeks, so hopefully I will finally set a new record. That's about all the exciting stuff that happened this week. Well, I did get a new haircut, that I LOVE, but all the pictures I took, just didn't turn out good, so maybe I'll have Morgan take one to post later. :) Until next time....
